Just my opinion, but...
Keep away from the VFN 4" hood!
There are plenty of installed pics around that should have you running from this hood...
If you are still considering it after seeing exterior pics, go here.
Good luck

Wow, I have a VFN 4" cowl induction hood on my Camaro and I love it but if it looked like that from the inside I wouldn't consider the hood for even a second. Imagine taking a right hand turn going up hill, you'll never see even a semi with that hood. I can't beleive they can sell that hood legally.

Yeah, that is a WS6 hood though. No comparison to a standard cowl hood. The WS6 is much wider. So 4" going 3/4 of the way across the hood is going to have a much larger impact than 4" going less than 1/2 the width of the hood.
I look at that picture and wonder how long before that person takes out a 12 yo kid and tells the cop "I didn't see him".

I just noticed that the original post refers to the 4" WS6 hood as a Glasstek piece...
The pic I linked to is the VFN piece. Just so we are on the same page.
I am pretty sure that VFN is the only company making a 4" T/A ram air hood.
Maybe we are not refering to the same thing.
Here's some exterior pix...

most of the stuff that vfn makes is for race only, its not even street legal. and its that way for a reason. imagine getting in a 5 mph crash and destroying half your body.

any way, the 4" cowl should be left to with the track, unless you have like a tt 560 under the hood of a f-body.

Lightbulb Just my opinion, but...

This picture is of the EXTENDED race only version that goes all the way to the windshield (it actually rests on the windshield)
and is in NO WAY intended for the street.Thats why its pin on only - not sure on what this guy was thinking when he put this on a street car.

Here are some pics of the raised hood that should be used for street.

http://vfnfiberglass.com/JohnVFN.jpg 4" raised hood on firehawk's car

If you notice on the above cars, these have the 4" raised ws6 hoods that are made to be used on the street. The NON EXTENDED version.
It's true that many parts they make are made for racing, but, they also make many street parts - such as these bolt on hoods.
This hood is a bit more aggressive then the original but looks killer - currently waiting on mine to ship from vfn....
hope this clears up any confusion for you.
