Arrow Honest opinion needed

I think i finally got my hands on a rear tail panel at a good price and i wanted to do the berger style matte black tail panel. I personally like the way it looks alot but when i showed it to my family and friends about 75% said they didnt like. I know that the only opinion that matters is mine but i just want to know what would be your first reaction when you see this pic. Be as brutally honest about it as you can.

Berger style

It looks like the hood/gfx/bumper on every 3rd honda I see.. Un finnished. It's a nice touch, just a bit trendy right now.. I didn't like it at first, but now I don't know what to think. jmho.

(EDIT: it looks like someone damaged the section, replaced it, and didnt bother to paint it back to the matching color)

That's the other thing.. I have not seen it in person.. I'm not sure I'd think differently if I did, but unless someone has it done near WPB FL, I'm gonna stick with my original thoughts.. Don't get me wrong.. Do what you like.. That makes it "your car" and not "a car you drive for other people".

It's kinda weird because I have seen several pics on different cars and on some it doesn't look bad.

However, I personally don't really like it. It doesn't look horrible its just not my cup of tea. I have to agree when some others say it kinda looks like it just got replaced.

But too each his own, if you really like it then go for it. Any f-body owner is most likely to recognize what look your going for.

Anyway good luck.

i think a lot of it has to do with the color of your car...i think it looks better on lighter cars...i know its not supposed to be gloss but i think that would make it look better

btw that berger ss looks badass!

I think it looks really good. But the reason I think it looks "unfinished" is because it looks TOO matt, I dont think it would hurt at all to spray on a couple of coats of clear to make it just shine up a bit. You can see on the real Berger panel, that the black just looks MUCH deeper, and I think if you gave it that gloss it would look way better.

Ehhh, I don't know where I stand on this one. I never used to like it because, like previously mentioned, it looks unfinished. The more I see it, the more I like it. There's very few cars it looks good on, and in my opinion, I don't think it looks good on yours.

I do like it on that red SS though.

For some reason Ive never really liked it at all on mustangs or camaros, I like the regular version much better. Good luck with whatever you decide!

yeah, that's what i was thinking, also i would have masked off the camaro lettering to leave in purple, but as it is it is an improvement but i would redo it along with some purple paint. over the lettering

all together good looking car

I did it to mine, picks in my sig same color as your car. I had this idea way back before anyone was doing it with the 69 emblem on it. I filled in the CAMARO and painted it flat black. It does have a kinda unfinished look but with the emblem in the middle it looks better IMO. I may paint it gloss if i get the $ to paint the stripes and new spoiler.

BTW i bought a spair panel to do this. Didnt have the guts to do it to nice shiney new paint.

I have one on my car, it is not a berger, but the first pic you had looks to dull, it needs a little gloss in it. I have a white car with all the windows tinted and the black top of course. I also put a new ss emblem on mine where the original was to not make it look so plane. I think the second pic you have looks a lot better (actual berger). Just my opinion.

I think it looks tacky, I think it would look better if it didn't extend under the tail lights.
