homemade clear corners??

I heard that if you take the amber marker lights out and boil them(no kidding I said BOIL them in water), that they would turn clear. How true could this possibly be?? Thanks,

Uhm, what you heard was like the old telephone game in gradeskool...

You boil then to loosen the adhesive such that you can remove the yellow lens. You then make a clear lens out of a patterned acrylic or Lexan...

I did mine without boiling, and just a dremel with a cut-off wheel, and some thin acrylic sheeting from Home Depot.

Then just use some really goos Glue to bond them together, and run a small bead of clear rtv around the joint to make sure it's all sealed up.

Mine have been done this way for about 3 years, with no water issues either.

Exactly why waste your time and money making corners that are gonna look bad when you can spend less than 35 bucks and get some good ones.

BTW 97FormulaWS-6 that method you described only works on T/A's and Firebirds...

No one has yet to make home made clear corners at home for a camaro and come forward with a walk through or pics.

EDIT: a link to ebay auctions

Personally, I'd rather spend $3 than $30. Do they really look that bad? That would be an issue for me.
