Arrow Help With White Gauge Overlays

Okay, so I am hoping to get my boyfriend white gauge overlays for Christmas, and I've been reading the posts on this web site. They have been helpful, so thanks for that. I have a few questions still, but need quick responses so that I can place my order and get them before XMas. What is the best brand of overlays? I have been looking at either the NR3178 model from LS1speed.com, or the Macewen ones. They are for a '98 Camaro Z28.
Also, what is this "Lens-Bezel" thing, and is it necessary? I see that without it, the price becomes a lot cheaper. I just don't know if it is something that is a Must Have, but if it is, by all means I will purchase that too.
Thanks for your help everyone!

more info

It's me again. I have one more question. My boyfriend mentioned that he'd heard that with the overlay, the gauges are dimmer at night and that you should buy additional bulbs. Is this correct? What kind of bulbs should I be looking into?

You do not need a new bezel with the overlays. All you need is the overlay. Some guys like to put in the TA bezel so there is not so much white or because their plexiglass is scuffed up.

The gauges to get dimmer with macewen I know for sure but I drove fine with them its not like you cant see them at all
but also if you wanna buy bulbs too you might wanna find out what color he wants them considering its hard to find a stock color bulb that is brighter

you could go with filament bulbs from macewen or go led like I did from here www.superbrightleds.com

Your could go reverse indiglo off ebay with the TA bezel from McEwen like I did, I love it. I also cut some of the overlay so that only the dials are white

Gauges night

This is my setup: http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...97_16_full.jpg

It is from: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/macewenmotorsports/

It is correct that the Bazel is not needed, but it looks so much better...your man will be happy with it! Pretty easy.

Installing it is another story...

Not the same car, but an F-Body non-the less. It will work!
Good luck.

one more question

Thanks for all of your help everyone. I went ahead and ordered the macewen white overlay with the bezel. One more thing though. I think i should wait to order the bulbs so that my boy can decide what colors he wants. Are the bulbs easy to replace? DO you have to remove the needle in order to do so??
Thanks.

You dont have to remove needles to change the bulbs, they are located in the back on the instrument cluster.

Bulbs are pretty easy to replace just snip the wires hold the stock bulb in the holder get the new bulb and thread the wires through the holder bend them in place and twist back in
