Help with t-top trim

The black trim around my t-tops are fading, I need to fix those up. Should I sand and repaint, or is there something I could use to restore those? My friend says sanding and repainting won't work because the paint will crack because of the type of soft plastic around the t-tops. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yea use the tire spray stuff. Just put some on a rag and wipe it on the trim.

I use tire dressing. But if you want a real nice permanenat shine, you could clean them and them poly eurothene them. It would be a timely procedure would the results would look pretty sharp.
