I would consider $500 for a hood one hell of a deal. Plus, you need to remember, when it comes to hoods and body panels, alot of times you get what you pay for. Cheaper hoods will more than likely have fitment issues and need to be adjusted accordingly. eBay will probably be your best bet for a hood under $500, unless you get lucky and find a deal on one of the message boards' classified sections, or a local sale.

Yeah man, 500 for a new hood is awesome as long as it isn't some bogus brand. The only way you're going to get one any cheaper is to buy it used from somebody. Even then, unless you can pick it up, shipping will probably put it up over or near 500.

I bought a hood off of ebay for around $500 shipped and it was a major pos! It was so flimsy my body man told me he couldn't smooth out the waves because the hood just bowed in when he tried, so I cut it apart and reinforced it with more glass and then glassed it all back together. If I were to do it again, I'd gladly spend another $200 on a better hood as opposed to the time I had into correcting all of the issues with a poor quality hood. By the way the hood I bought was this one:

You'd be better off buying an OEM one from http://www.slponline.com and you'd be reassured that the quality would be the best quality on the market.

What company is selling this hood? Do you have a link? 375 is pretty cheap and shipping is going to kill you either way. If you can get an aftermarket SS hood for 500 to your door and it is a quality hood, then you are in good shape.
