Question Help needed installing vinyl roof on 68SS

Anybody done this before? I haven't and my car hasn't had a vinyl top before.

I bought the black vinyl and 3M Super Trim Adhesive at Classic Industries. The 3M product seemed faulty, only a thick almost dry beam came out, I expected a wet mist. I complained to CI, and they sent a new one. It's better, it's not dry, but still it's a single beam that comes out. Is this right? Can I spray it on the roof and even it out with a brush? If I do, I can't do the same on the vinyl, will it work if the glue is only on one of the two parts that need to be glued together?
Actually I'd prefer to have a glue meant for applying with a brush, CI used to have that, but it's discontinued. It has to come from the US, because the environmental restrictions here in Europe are much tighter.

Any suggestions?

If you haven't already checked out Ron Sessions book Camaro Owner's Handbook: Maintenance, Restoraton and Repair How-Tos for 1967-1981 Camaros , you may want to do so. It has a good section on vinyl top repair and installation including step by step pictures.

It's got other great stuff geared towards 1st and 2nd generation Camaro owners.

I highly recommend it.
