Help with figuring what this piece is

I dont have a picture but I'm wondering what the little piece of the body that is just to the right when you open the door right before the A-pillar. It a triangle shaped piece that is black. Mine is starting to fade and am wondering what it is called and if its possible to take off either to paint or buy a new one.

Thanks in advance

It's referred to as a sail panel, whether that's the right term or not. Here's a link to Brent Franker's vinyl site. About half way down, he has a vinyl for that area, in case you don't want to paint it.
