headlight - headlamp bulb review

Silverstar does not seem to be a good buy at all, less lumens than a regular bulb and short life. Even the Ultras are only as bright as regular bulbs, still with much shorter life:

More good info:

I just installed Xtravisions; had I seen this 1st, would probably just gone with regular bulbs, extra 60 lumens, meh...

I don't know what you're talking about. Regular 55 watt bulbs SUCK in comparison to Silverstars. I've had good luck and pretty long life with mine. I want to try the Ultras but haven't found them anywhere yet. They're half the cost of a PIAA and are just as bright. I tried Nokya bulbs after reading that they were good and the SUCK and are totally blue and harder than hell to see with.

Yeah I'm not trying to bash your info, but I have the 9006 low beam ultra's in my wife's 05 Monte and they seem brighter than the stock high beams. thats just my .02

To me, unless you are willing to do a true HID conversion, there is no point in messing around with your headlights. The GTO has projector lenses that happen to work great with HIDs so I installed a kit and the difference was amazing. This is not the case for every car though. Many people throw an HID kit in a halogen lamp housing and blind the crap out of everybody on the road.
