Unhappy headlight harness for LS1? conversion?? help!

okay, I just realized that the LS1 headlights use a different socket for the bulbs... at first sight I thought they were identical, but when I tried to connect them I found they werent.

my question is do they run off the same voltage and everything? Is hooking it up as simple as just cutting the old socket off and splicing in the new socket or is there more to it than that? Because I can cut the actual socket off of a LS1 camaro at the junkyard and get em for $20 or so, but if I have to buy the whole harness it is going to cost alot. Let me know, Thanks!

On my front end (even though a Trans Am)..i just spliced everything. Im sure you can do the same and your good to go. Just make sure you have the high beams and low beams right.

good luck,

well the old ss hood I had on the car is damaged... Im not sure how much it would cost to be repaired. The actual hood is in good condition but it split the top layer from the bottom layer, kind of like a sandwich...
In the accident instead of crunching up the hood and cracking it into pieces it flexed it to the point where the bottom layer and the top layer split apart...
If your interested in it I can take some pics of it tomorrow and show you exactly what I am talking about. I just dont know if it is something easy to fix or not... I dont know if you can use some kind of epoxy glue to fix it or what... email me if you have any questions

You will be ok just splicing the 98 type connectors on . The 9004/05/06 bulbs arent pushing anymore voltage than the 93-97 headlights . You may luck out like me , and the wires will even be the same color , hehe

I forget if my wires were the same color, but it was so simple just to splice them.
