Smile Hatch conversion

I have seen a few 93-97's with a converted hatch back (tiny rear window and a flat "trunk lid" after that). I am curious if this is a kit of some kind or if it has to be done entirely custom. Either way does anyone have info on how hard or expensive this mod is? I am not sure I am interested in doing it, and if it's a serious pain or hella expansive, I'd probably pass.

Thanks all,

it is the RK Sport Sportback. http://www.rksport.com/prod_detail.p...22&view=detail

There are better pictures floating around the net, and some colors do it better justice than others. They have been around for a good 6+ years, meanwhile the price has yet to drop. That rear window is removable and mounts in the new hatch itself, although not powered. I approached them about price and they replied they would negotiate for an order of 3 or more. This was about 4 years ago.

I think that has got to be the ugliest appearance mod ever.

I don't much care for that mod either. However, just TODAY, my buddy here locally added this to his black Z28 and I must say... it looks damn good on a black Camaro. I'll take pics when I can and post them but it looks good on his car where as I thought it looked terrible on the red RK Sport example.

I have a bunch of pics of the Sportback that I have collected the last couple of years. In my opinion they are one of the best (although kind of extreme) appearance mods there are. I agree that the color scheme of the particular car is very important. All of the images I have are on Camaros. Most are exterior but some are from the inside looking out. If anyone is interested I can email them to you. I emailed them all to pu12en12g , as well, some time ago. Maybe he can post them all. Some of them came off of his web page anyway, I think.

With the picture above, I think I have renewed interest in this mod. My car is dark green and the final product seems to look better on darker cars
