Has anyone ver polished there silver painted wheels?

I did it. It took me HOURS! I'd guess about 20-25 hours per wheel on a set of TA 16 inch. Turned out pretty good though, and I had nothing better to do that winter anyways.
Get to know the eastwood supply company. They have all the tools you'll need and they have an instruction booklet. Follow it; it works.

I figure the process would have gone quicker, but it was all a learning experience, and I didn't start out with the right tools; I got those only after getting really frustrated with the time it took. One thing I would try next time is grinders grease(?) From what I've read, it looks like it really isn't a grease, but it would get into nooks and crannies much more easily than a dremel would. Another thing to note is that it is REALLY critical to get a polisher that runs at about 3500 rpm; this is the perfect speed for buffing. Go much slower and you will be an eternity; go too much faster and you'll turn your work surfaces blue.
