Question Has anyone painted a billet grill?

i'm planning on painting my billet grill black and installing a red bowtie on the front of it. (97 camaro).

has anyone done that before?
What paint should i use?
does it scratch easily?
where can i get a metal red chevy bowtie?

thanks.

Sounds like a pretty good idea. I guess it would go with your color scheme, but I have to question the point of painting it black with the red bow tie. That is how it looks stock without the grill. I suppose it would look slightly different, but maybe you could throw on a Z28 badge instead of the bowtie or something along those lines or paint the grill red. But do you understand my point about it looking stock?

EDIT: Ah, just noticed you had a 6 cylinder so rather than the Z28 badge maybe you could get black CAMARO fill-in letters they put on the front of the LS1 Camaros and put those on a red painted grill. I think that would look sweet especially with your red stripes.

actually i was trying to make look more stocky. i do like your idea, but i think that the stripes make the car stand out as much as i want it to. at the moment the billet grill on it is polished silver in color. it looks good, but like i said i want to try and ease up the appearance of the car w/o spending much money.
