Has anyone ever thought of this?

I was thinking if you had T-tops and welded them to your door so they opened with it like the Ford GT40 it would look awesome.

couple problems with that.
1) you could not take them off
2) i dont think you could weld it in a manner to make it so it would be rigid enough

But then how would you take them out? or are you one of the 99% of the peopel who bought a t-top car because it had t-tops and never takes them out?

Wouldn't the shape of the t-top not allow the door to open as it pivots? lol

you would look stupid when you bump your head trying to get out of your car. You would also need to create a door frame to weld the t top to. There's just glass now.

Rofl, after thinking about it after posting I was like "ZOMG, i'm gonna get flamed. But I was thinking it could be done if you made a frame for the door and t-top you could still remove them, I'll have to draft the layout to explain it better.

It's going to be impossible, which is the problem. The t-tops can't come out diagonally, which means the doors would have to shoot out perpendicular to the car like a Transformers toy for the t-tops to not contact the A-frame or B-frame.

Yeah but the tops don't come off

so that idea is really dumb, I'm gonna have to go with the 1st one welding my t-tops to the glass

It's just so brilliant it can't be topped That's right after I put liquid Nitrogen in my tires to help with fuel economy, as it won't lose ANY pressure with temperature changes
