Has Anybody Bought Export Taillights off Ebay?

There is a couple of Ebay sellers from Japan that often have export taillights for sale. I was wondering if anybody here has bought from them and how was the service. Were the taillghts in good condition, scratches?

yes, but the seller i used doesnt appear to be one of the current sellers. The condition of mine are pretty good, they cleaned up nicely. Of the 2 i could find on ebay today, I'd recommend the ones with the harness (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-C...spagenameZWDVW) as you wont have to modify the housing to use the usdm sockets, just splice them in to you're current harness.

Bought mine from Ebay but got them from a seller here in the US. You don't have to modify or splice any wires. You just tape off the side 194 socket and the other bulbs will fit into the sockets with a bit of persuasion. I didn't cut or modify either the housing or sockets.

Interesting. Mine wouldnt fit if you tryed except for the reverse light (just had to cut off a tab hitting one of the taillight anchors or it wouldnt screw in). The sockets on my harness didnt even line up to the holes on the lights, they were close, but no way they were going in there with out some modification of the housing or the harness (I used the 97+ harness btw).

Angle the socket in then slowly turn it and it will snap into place. It probably would have been a bit easier using some electrical grease or something but it worked. They're just a pain to get back out cuz they're tight and you have to pry up as you're turning to get it to pop back out correctly. I didn't want to hack up my expensive lights or my car's wiring to get them on.

interesting, I've never heard of anybody having to modify the sockets before to get the export lights to work.

Good price, but it says it's just the drivers side, no pass.

modified my housing on my lights to make them fit. just had to file down the opening a little more then they popped in like normal lights.
I had to but the harness for the 97 also. just taped it up off to the side for the side marker lights.
