Post GTS covers suck!!!

Just before I left to go to my g/f's house today I slapped on my gts tailight covers. I used the same procedure as every other time, click em on and press hard on the bottom until they fit really snug, then I shut the hatch. So I drive there doing 110 km/hr the whole way, get there and decide to have a walk around the car. Everything was looking fine until I looked at the *** end, my rear right cover had came off!!! I was like WTF. Now, anyone who owns these or has seen them be put on, should know that the only way to get these puppies off is to open the hatch and pop em off because the hatch is whats holds em on, or pull on the buggers and snap em in half. So explain this one to me??? I soo made sure they were on, and even checked to make sure after I shut the hatch. I'm thinking it got heat worped or something cause like this makes no sense at all. Im going to give GTS a ring in the morning and tell them what I think of there awesome product. Im just kinda pissed because thats a 30 dollar piece of plastic gone, in the ditch somewhere.

Actually they can come off with the hatch closed, one of my friends was messing around and pulled my tailight cover off. I talked to GTS the other day and they tried to tell me they weren't suppose to be on the car since there for show or off road use. So it's not covered if they fall off while driving. But they will sell you one of them for a discounted price.

I used to have them too. You can go to a drug store, fabric store and get velcro pieces. That stick on the taillight and blackout. Worked well for me. And cheap too.

I never knew they could come off when the hatch was closed. I have tried before and have never been able too. So what should I do, just call em and tell them what happened and then they will sell me one for a good price?

I wonder what they would say if I told them that I was at a car show and the wind blew it off and smashed the crap out of it?

Yeah, I didn't think they could come off w/ the hatch closed either. Apparently they can slide over and then you can just pull them off. I think thats how they end up flying off. I know a few times I would get out of my car and they would be half hanging off.

Call up there warranty dept., and just ask them to sell you one, because it flew off. I've bought front ones and they charged me $18 for one shipped. If it's new enough they might replace it under warranty. I would check to see if they would do this before asking to buy one under warranty. I also wouldn't bring up them being for show use only unless they say something about it.

Or if you want, I got a set of used rear GTS blackouts I'll sell cheap. If you want them let me know.

When I had mine a while back, I knew that they could come off when the hatch was closed, in fact sometimes I pulled them off when the hatch was closed... And I had a feeling I would lose one one day, and sure enough, one afternoon after 5-10 minutes on the highway and a little city driving, one came off

Yep, I was going 105 on the Freeway for like 1 exit like 1 minute, it flew off. One time I hit 125 and I came home and the thing was barely hanging on. I had the RKsport ones, I guess all of them are the same, they dont stay on too well, they are able to catch too much air.
