Got a GREAT deal!
Got a GREAT deal!
Well, wasn't planning on spending any money on the car right now with the holidays coming up and all, but I found a deal I couldn't pass up. My buddy called and told me his friend had wrecked his car and had an SS spoiler up for grabs. Said he's always short on cash, so he'd probably let it go cheap. He offered him $50, the guy said $100...I said SOLD. He acted as if it was him buying it so I could get the "buddy price" and then I gave him my money in return. It's in great shape with the led brake light. Can't wait to paint it now and install it. Just had to share that with someone! lol
I'll post pics after the install.

good score, I got mine from a wrecked SS that was the same color but the led was toast so I ended up paying $300 for the spoiler and $125 for the led. Not sure how that compares to what most people are spending on them.
Then you probably would have a hard time finding yourself a used spoiler. Most of the used ones I see go for around $200, sometimes as much as $300. Now this is for an SLP spoiler, which isn't made anymore. Aftermarket units are a little cheaper. There's a company on Ebay selling aftermarket SS spoilers for something like $200 plus shipping, but I know nothing about the fitment. I was at my buddy's house when the guy brought this one over and I inspected it and then gave him the "go ahead-nod" once I decided it was in great shape. Sometimes you'll find a great deal on a forum for $100-175, but you really have to watch closely because they don't last long at that price. If you can get to a salvage yard and find a wrecked SS, chances are you'll get a great deal on the spoiler, but normally once you find them, the cars are pretty picked from already.
I paid some where in the neighbor hood of 320. I got it good condition but I still need to get it painted to match my car. I figured I'll pay for the exact fitment and LED that I want, not to mention that from the dealership new, if they can get them, the spoiler goes for close to $1000.
