Good rims?

Im looking to buy some 17's, but i dont want to sacrafice performance. I have heard its best to stick with oem rims or a high quality(ie high price) after market rim. Since I dont have alot to spend that mean oem for me. Anywho anyone know anything about Elite rims? Good, bad? I cant find alot of good info online(or even the style Im looking at). Here is what Im looking at:

What kind of information are you looking for?

They look ok.........with a cleaning and polishing I'm sure they'll be really nice.

You're thinking you'll sacrifice performance by getting afteramarket rims?
In what way?

It's not the amount of money you spend that makes a good wheel.

If they fit and you like them - go for it.

Hey, please dont take this in the wrong way, but with all do respect, those rims are very very ugly and I think they will make your camaro look pretty tacky. Rims can make or break the visual appearance of a car. Your safest bet with the camaro is the ZR-1 wheels, Y2k Corvette wheels, or the Z06 chrome wheels. They are all over ebay I think for like 1,200 rims and tires. Take a look at my camaro I have the Y2k vette rims. 17's will not hurt your performance, I have actually heard 17's improve performance. Anyways, my 2 cents.

Agreed. But I have not found any localy for sale. I dont care much for the look either but I figured i would look into it.

Im looking for how do they compare quality wise to a stock rim. Are they just a cheapo rim? (im guessing yes)

I have never heard of Elite rims, so I can't really comment on the quality of those rims. But I have a set of aftermarket rims and they're just fine. I've used them for 4 years now without a problem. I'm upgrading to 18" rims this spring though. Anyways, aftermarket rims can be just as if not stronger than OEM wheels. Just purchase a set of rims that is backed by a well known company and you'll be fine.

I currently have KMC rims on my car now. I just purchased some OEM C5 wheels this past fall that I'll be putting on this spring.
If you're interested I can sell them to you for a really good price. They are 16" rims though. So maybe you're not interested.

Yeah Im strict on the 17" criteria. If you dont mind me asking how much did you pick up the c5 rims for? I have been searching myself for some rims off a vette but have not found much to my liking.

Elite wheels are not what I would call "high quality"

Well, my case is a little different than most. But I picked up my set of four 18" rims and tires for $375. That includes almost brand new 295/35/18 and 265/35/18 Michelin Pilot XX3s. I got a great deal.
