Thumbs up Fuel line relocation mod

Ok so i've seen a few pictures of lt1's lately without the ugly loom of fuel lines that is normally found on our cars... sooo this afternoon i decided to try to clean up my engine bay and relocate the fuel lines out of sight...

I started off by cutting the fuel line protector off very carefully. I then disconnected all 3 fuel lines.

Next I jacked up the car and removed the drivers side tire and rim. I then removed all the bolts/clips and dropped the wheel well out.

I then proceeded to trace the fuel lines out of the engine bay into the wheel well. Then i removed the grommet and returned it back to its original position.

Next I broke out the drill and drilled out the new hole for the lines. I ended up drilling it to a little over an inch. I found a flat spot in the wheel right near the brake booster.

I then put my new grommet in the hole and started the task of tracing the wires behind the brake booster and back to the fuel rails. A little silicone spray helps squeeze the fuel lines through the grommet.

After tracing the wires, i zip tied up all the loose ends and neatened it up.
Lastly, I returned the fuel rail protector.

Then I cleaned up the wheel well with some zip ties, returned the wheel well plastic, put the rim and tire back on, and thats that.

Hope you guys enjoyed this!

*blinks* What color is your car? It looks Sunset Orange Metallic in those pics, but that's impossible unless you repainted it. Is it a '97 in Cayenne Red Metallic?

Looks like you did a nice clean job of relocating those lines.

thanks!

I'd recommend the alt relocation if you're planning on removing your a/c ever. Cleans the bay up large, plus no more notched valve covers, and it starts to look like a v8 lol.

Very Nice!! I have been looking for an option like this for my '94. I plan to start on mine after I get off work. Did you have to shorten any lines since the route is shorter?

Thanks!
Mike

Looks good man. I'm planning the same thing for later this summer, but I'm going to be replacing from the drivers seat up to the intake with braided lines. Right now I need to buy a new fuel pump from my buddy then I'll work on the fuel lines and EVAP can delete

And BTW do the alt mod too I just finished mine and have about $45 into it and $27 of that was the damn belt LOL and $13 for an idler pulley from autozone. By far the best mod I have done on my car besides the ~200whp increase HAHA

Keep up the good work

Ah come on man, it doesn't get that hot up here LOL. Plus I say to drive cars like these its ok to sweat a little. Unless its a daily driver in the summer or you live in texas, then its really nice to have AC.

The past 2 years I have had my car I haven't used the ac once. I'd rather listen to my exhaust and have a breeze.

I'll have some pics up sometime of my version of the AC delete/ALT relocation. I might have someone interested in my old auto, so if that goes I'll get the new fuel pump and some braided lines and a new fuel pressure regulator and really make the fuel lines look different LOL
