Re: Front license plate holder removal

Take the license plate off first.

Then get a long screw driver with a torx bit (can't remember what size) and put it down each of the two holes in the bracket. Take out each screw, and it will come right off.

The only problem will be two big gapping holes in the front of the grill!

I dont know about which method yours is attached to the grille. But mines was riveted on Anyway, I used a relatively small drill bit and trilled out the cores of the rivets, being extra careful not to go all the way through into the fasica. Then I ripped that sucker off, have 3 holes in the grille but Im getting a billet soon anyway.

I took the license plate off and looked at those two holes, but no screws were in there. I believe there was threads but it seems to be glued on. Any ideas?

Depends on how bad you want it off If it were mine and I really wanted it off, I'd just rip the damn thing off. If I damaged the paint, I'd have it fixed. Even if you do damage to it, I presume you'll only damage the black area between the fogs and if you want to get by really cheap, it shouldn't be too much to get just that fixed... it'll also fix the two holes that may be there as well

Where the screws went in will be pulled up. You can drill this rough material off with a bit or cut it off flush with a blade. From your local store you can buy push in type fasteners. Black or coloured. Like the fasteners that hold your interior panels together, fender liners or hood insulaters. The head will be approx. 1/2" in. dia. They cover up the hole and give it a finished look.
