hi! I plan on ordering a new hood off a seller on ebay and they only do freight collect. So, I plan on taking the hood off my car on the day that I am supposed to go get the hood and go to the truck terminal where I am supposed to pick it up and put the new hood on there at the spot. Do you think this will work? Do you think I will be able to do this all by myself or should I get someone to help me with it? (Also, how much does a stock hood weight? I need to make sure I can carry it by myself if I need to take it off myself.)

 

Itd be advisable to bring a friend. Its not that its all that heavy, just really akward.

 

You need 2 people, one on each side to bolt on the hood. As light as aftermarket hoods are you can't hold it and bolt it on yourself.

Definitely bring a buddy.

 

A stock hood isn't heavy (around 45 lbs I believe) but is very awkward. My aftermarket hood is around 25 lbs. In both cases, I wouldn't dream about attempting to put one of these on by myself... one slip and you're repainting your fender(s)
