Fog Light Replacement?????

No,this isn't a how do I replce the bulb post. I have noticed that one of my fog light housings are getting condensation in them. Figure that there is a crack somewhere. Has anyone replaced them with some after market fog lights. or should I just replace the broken one. What bulb would be a good one to replace the stock bulb with if that's what I need to do? Thanks

Re: Fog Light Replacement?????

There have been several aftermarket fog light replacements.
Might be able to turn up something with a search...

One popular option is the FF75's.
I even made a write up on using some Pilot lights. It can be viewed by clicking here. I have been seeing these lights at Wal-Mart lately if interested. And just as a note - I used these lights for several months - and never blew a single bulb, noticed an outstanding difference, and never had any moisture, etc.

So you can tell anyone who thinks PIAA is the only brand out there, and that anything else sucks, to suck the toe.
You can't beat a good performing sealed metal/glass housing for under $40.

(Not pushing you into that option, just getting on my soapbox).

There are several other options though. The stock housings usually run about $25+ on eBay.

Re: Fog Light Replacement?????

I replaced my stock fog lights on my 1994 Z28 with four smaller round fog lights (i have plans to convert to round headlights, so i wanted it all to match) but the kit i bought had a red switch, but i wanted green so i hooked up my own switch and the light inside the switch burnt out but it looks pretty cool, and since it's not hooked up to my stock fog light wires, i can run my brights and fog lights at the same time! haha. I plan on replacing them with dual slim oval fog lights and put a blackout kit over them, then probably get a grill or something, i think that'd look pretty slick, but i guess we'll see what happens...i want to get new brakes, and some performance stuff before i worry about the little things...haha.

Hella FF75s fit nicely and are way brighter than the stockers. Pics:

Re: Fog Light Replacement?????

I made mounts from flat aluminum sheet. Each mount is about 4 or 5 inches square. 3 holes, 2 to screw to the car, 1 for the light bracket. They don't bounce at all.
