FLP Y-pipe install, pics

Finally started installing the exhaust system back on the car. I had the FLP 1 3/4" longtubes and their 2.75" Y-pipe with off-road test pipes that bolt in via a round-v-flange device. I removed the y-pipe off the car when I sold my B&B to have it re-cerami-coated. Just a few shots of the setup.

Is that a custom made y-pipe, or something that they have in regular production for sale? Very clean ride.

FLP no longer offers the headers or y-pipe for the F-body.

Man, that is just freakin TOO clean. You're beyond OCD. You must be a nervous wreck when you drive it...at least I know I would be and I thought I was ****. LOL

Looks good man. Looks real damn good. Does your y-pipe bang at all? FLP should've built a better y but aside from that I still love mine.

LOL, (OCD for sure (both of us)) You would think I would be a nervous wreck, but I won't let the attention to detail keep me from enjoying my car. If something happens, oh well, I'll just repair it and move on

Just FYI on the FLP y-pipe banging issue. I no longer have a problem, mufflex sell a stainless mounting clamp with two rubber isolators that you tack weld to the body, other part wraps around the drivers side of the y-pipe. I repaired that banging issue years ago, most people don't know how to solve the problem, not enough of our setup out there for anyone to really create a solution. Let me know if you need any help with sourcing the part. Hate to see a car like yours still have the banging y-pipe issue, especially when it likes to pull timing from the motor (false knock retard). You have a beautiful car !

I thought that was the case. So what are your plans for the car? I would be afraid to drive that anywhere but a car show.

I definitely want to take it to a few car shows (just for fun). Mostly, I'm going to drive it this summer. The car has been idle for almost 3 summers It will make a few trips to the track for some ET's at the end of the summer/fall.

I was wondering about the mufflex piece actually as I heard mixed results. But seeing you and I have the same headers that gives me a vote of confidence.

My car is ok,...your car is phenominal! I've got a LONG way to go to get to your status. Maybe once I'm retired from the AF in a few years I can go that route. I'll need a spare Fbod though.

You're going to get spent tire rubber all over that beautiful undercarriage.

2000GTP: The fun part will be cleaning it off the car

SRZ: Next time I work on the car I will try to take a pic of the mufflex adaptor, so you can see how well it holds the FLP y-pipe away from the under-body.

PS SRZ: Don't sell yourself short, your car is STOUT ! Especially your engine combo.....

Looks great man! How much more ground clearance do the FLPs offer over Hookers?

Definitely more clearance w/ FLP's. I'm slammed talking about a 25" from the top of the arch to the ground and still have 3"-3.5" clearance from the bottom of the drivers y to the ground.

96SilverRam, thanks for compliments. I like to see the hanger pics whenever you have time.
