Flat Black Rattlecan

I know this has been probably posted a million times but I'm brand new today to these forums because i just got my first Camaro. I uploaded the photos as the very first before photos.

I know the hood of my car has been changed from factory as well as front end.

I'm starting to sand down my hood and will start on the car soon. I'm planning and spraying rattlecan FLAT BLACK and was just wondering if any body has any pictures of there car. I have seen tons of matte-black cars but not many flat. Please PM me or let me know if you have flat blacked your car.

This is a rolling chassis I was given as a college graduation present from my step-dad who took out motor and trans so really any ideas, tips, tricks, and anything will be exciting.

Also please send me any links to magazine articles about 3rd gens that's are restoring.

Thank you for helping out the newbie.

I would suggest adding a signature with the basic info of your car so people know what you are working with and can provide better advice.

Welcome and good luck with your project. I'm not a painter but from what I've heard matte/flat black is harder to paint than color/clear. Plenty of research can be found on this site with a little looking.

i dont have any pics, but i did that to an old car of mine. use black primer, then wet sand it, and buff it. it worked great for me. and that primer is tough. it wont crack or peel no matter what you do to it.

matte black is another word for flat black,,, do you mean satin black??? I painted my front grill flat black and after 3 times we finally got it right. Hard to paint with IMO

Instead of rattle cans , You can spend the same amount of a good paint like hot rod black and its satin and will look alot better then rattle cans just my 2 cents .
