I do however remember seeing a car shoot flames in 2 Fast 2 Furious...........hint hint
also it would be cool when you get those *******s who ride your *** like crazy (especially stupid 17yr olds with thier gay civics), get em real close to your bumper and let the flames rip...haha
haha dont get me wrong...i dont want those gay flames from fast n furious, there was like a really fast shot of an old sled with dual exhaust that shot flames out when it was pullin outta the parkin lot...but yea, im not lookin for those colored flames like in 2fast2furious...im completely against rice, i like subtle, tasteful mods, not giant aluminum wing on top of another giant primer fiberglass wing with a 20 dollar fart can

But seriously dont do it. i dont think no matter how hard you try this cannot be made into a "tasteful" mod. It just has rice
written all over. Wether you think it is or not, it just has a reputation for being rice.
I love how this is getting quoted and being put on the "rice" plate
My father did this to his old Hudson he had years ago, not to mention the '70 Charger he had years ago.... this was around WAY before the "ricer" term was even applied to automobiles, heck this was around before it was even implemented as a term for Asian made motorcycles (the origin of the term)...
I personally think it can be done tastefully, but like anything it takes work to make it tasteful... you can't just install and expect it to be "cool"...
In reality I've been wanting to add it to my true-duals, but have been chasing other problems and has put a LOT of my other projects on hold, seeing I can barely drive my car anymore due to a MASSIVE vibration issue...

I like flame throwers on older muscle cars. But not little pansy flames you get out of a lighter. I don't have a problem with big flames on a nice muscle car. Not too sure if I would like it on a F-Body.
4thgen tips are perfect for this....
i dont post online about it much because i learned about flamethrowers from older hot rods... they're part of their culture... but mention them online on a fbody board, and poof, they're "uncle bens back burner"...
that "kit" is a piece of crap. dont waste your money.
because of the computer controls and the cats, the best method for flame throwers in late models (again this is my opinion) is a stand alone system.
for saftey reasons, i prefer propane... the basic setup is somthign like this.
you "arm" the system. this makes the box start sparking the plug(s) ... this also arms but not activates the propane 'noid.
much like a nitrous noid, its a electric valve that opens only when power is applied... when you hit the button, and when the window switch is above 3k, it opens the noid, propane goes into the TIPS and ignites.. making a nice constant flame...
the window switch is there so that the propane is only injected when the RPMS are high enough to blow the gas and flame out... you dont want it standing in the exhaust and lighting off in there. explocives + enclosed spaces dont mix well.
it wont melt your bumper. matter of fact, while i wouldnt reccomend it, you can place your hand directly over the tip and flame without it being unusually warm.
i shall be making my 3rd flame thrower kit soon.. i just got some 4thgen tips on my exhaust and looking at them, they're too perfect not to do it...
the basic system you need is:
2 plugs
i use 2 coils, but with some boxes you can use one.
the trigger box. can be somthing as simple as electric motor with a cam that flicks a switch, or it can be totally solid state electronics.. either way, you need somthing to trigger the coil.
propane tank/valve/regulator assembly.. most use small colman camping ones.
PROPANE electric valve ('noid) - i usually get them from boating supply stores, athough i just got my last one off ebay.. be sure its for propane.. you dont want one that could spark it off by accident.
copper tubing and Ts for the gas.
switches/relays/wiring.. usual stuff for anything electrical.
its not too complicated, but there are some things that you need to know to keep yourself safe. i reccomend learning from someone with experiance..

Yup, that's the setup I'm doing... not to mention the parts for the "sparker" are fairly cheap (under $10)... not including the plug, wire, and coil.
Plus the cool thing with mine... my exhaust exits just infront of the rear tires, angled slightly backwards... should light up both sides of the car with atleast 10' flames...
