First pics of my hood still in the booth

Went to the shop yesterday and they let me get a few pics while I was there. See the thread below for pics:

With any luck, I will get the Z back today and get some better pics.

Yeah, I really can't wait to get it back. I got the airbox installed before I took it in for paint and I could tell a bit of a difference even over my SLP cold air intake. Guess it's time to update the sig.

Sorry, it's the Suncoast Creations Z-Style hood. Can be seen in many places, but here are some direct links:

Also on Brent's page (http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/appearance/):

I will hopefully have some pics of the finished product posted within the next day or so.

It's not my style but it looks like a quality hood. No large gaps around it at all. Good luck

Well, this hood wasn't necessarily my first choice. I kept going back and forth between this and the SLP Ultra Z hood (the SS hood was never an option). However, since Suncoast was having a moving sale, I got the hood for only $200. The body shop had to do very little work since this hood was previously a display model and was already painted. There were only a few chips that had to be repaired and that was it. I took the car in on Monday morning and will be picking it up today at 5pm. I also had the front end repaired and repainted, so a 3 day turn around on having nearly 1/3 of your car painted is an awesome thing.

The best thing about this hood and the SLP Ultra Z hood is they use the radiator mounted Ram Air box and not the wrap around that the SS does. Which, IMHO, should provide better flow. That, and every body and there brother, cousin and uncle have the SS hood. I have seen no one in town with the Suncoast hood and have only seen one other in person at one of the cruise nights.

Yes, the fitment is what I would call nearly perfect. And I only say "nearly" because I'm no paint/body expert and there's probably something that isn't quite right that I haven't noticed. However, one of my best friends is very much into paint/body work (he recommended the body shop) and he will be giving it the once over tomorrow, so we'll see.

The nice thing is, the hood fit that good right out of the box. It was just myself, dad and brother installing the hood and it was a piece of cake. It required very little adjustment one way or another and latched perfect before I even took it in to be painted. Best of all, the Suncoast hood fits better than the stock hood did. That thing was abysmal.

I like the look of that hood.
I think I would still have to go with the big block stinger hood though......
