Just got back from a 3 week vacation in hawaii, and while there i came across what appeared to be a camaro with a firebird style hood on it... anyone have pics of something like this? Cant say i've ever seen or heard of something like this.
It was on the road and I didnt get a great look at it, but im sure it was a camaro with a hood similar to one from a firebird or t/a

 

Some people never learned that "different" doesn't automatically equal "better."

 

I was speaking more in terms of trends. It's a trend to put certain Corvette parts on F-bodies. It's a trend to make non-SS cars look like SS cars. It's a trend to convert 93-97 TransAm front ends into 98-02's, but not vice-versa.

Some people's line of thinking goes something like, "I've seen 50,000 people put SS hoods on their Camaro's. That's played out. I wanna do something that nobody has done before. I know! I'll put a T/A hood on it!"

And they'll drive around in an eyesore just so that they can pat themselves on the back for doing something "different."

 

That's so hideous........ugh...

 

Its not too bad and would be acceptable if its setup to be functional. Put on for just that look would be stupid.

 

i think its great. i always wondered about that. how is it done or do they have kits or something.

 

Actually I am planning to do this to my next camaro when i buy it, hopefully a black 01-02 z28. And i don't want it because of a "trend" or to be different, i want it because it looks sweet, i hate the stock ls1 hood and if i wanted a car with an SS hood i would go with an lt1 because it looks much more aggressive since it stays flared out.

 

You can buy the hood for camaros, its call the Ram Air II Hood

Id never cross firebird/TA parts with Camaro parts, ie hoods and spoilers. It's also weird to me to see TA rims on a camaro. Keep it real, keep it camaro!

I dont care what none of you say. This looks good. other than that most cars dont come together correctly. Warbird hoods look out of place alot of the time because it's missing the bottom half of the nostrils.

im tired of people saying that it belongs on a trans am. yeah, it came stock on them, but that doesnt mean its wrong to put it on a camaro. loads of cars have that style hood to choose from, why is it wrong to put it on a camaro, just because its on our cousin, the trans am??
the few people who think when criticizing it, say that it ruins the lines of a camaro, which it does. if you stick it on a stock camaro, it takes away the sleek look, and just looks out of place. however, on that first camaro posted, the lines have already been changed. the ground effects make the stance meaner, and make the car look less sleek, and less like a sebring. congratulations if you manage to make your "sleek" camaro look badass, but its much easier to do by changing the lines up a little bit.
have you guys ever seen the quote about how "a camaro looks like it can kick your ***, but a trans am looks like its coming over to do it"?
everyone can get an ss hood, and they do it because its a nice hood. SS's look downright sexy, but now, it just looks like every camaro came with that hood. i dont want my camaro to be your run of the mill camaro, so i got the warbird hood. i didnt do it just because its different, i did it because i like it. how many of you would get Z06 wheels, but dont because you see more of them than stock wheels?? its the same concept.

 

i think the ls1 camaro looks awsome with it on... but it just doesnt fit the lt1
