Yes it can be done, and it is just a easy swap of the panels. But if you know what you are looking at you can tell due to the speakers. Personally I dont like it, but it will work.

Sometimes the doors rub the dash, but they fit. I had a sudden problem pop up trying to put mine in. Firebird doors do not allow roll up windows, power only. I have an extra set of Ebony firebird doors I might dump off. I am trying to find an ultra rare V6 bird door without the tweeter in the speaker area. They were only available one or two years supposedly, though I have never seen one.

They're not that rare -- I have a 95 Formula that has them. It's just uncommon to find a Firebird without power windows (which is the only way you can get the flat door panels). So I know they made them up to at least 95

I forgot what year it was, but power windows were standard from one certain year forward. You can still get them new from GM, at the low price of one arm and one leg.

Sorry guys incorrect, the made 93-95 Firebirds and TA's with power windows with the flat speaker area. I know I owned 2 of them. May have been rare but it did happenI see allot of firebirds this way.
