Firebird color options for 1998?

I have looked all over but I cant find the answer. What were the color options for 1998 Firebirds? Im looking at buying one and the guy says its dark red, not bright red. Anyone know the factory name?

Cayenne Red Metallic is the color he is talking about I think. It replaced Medium Patriot Red.

I can't tell you the Firebird names, but for '98 Camaros, the reds were Bright Red and Cayenne Red. Edmunds lies about color names, so don't trust them.

See if you can find scans of the '98 Firebird brochure, it'll tell ya.

For what it's worth, those are absolutely, positively, the only reds available in '98. You can check my "Brangeta's 4th gen history" topic in this forum to see a pic of what that color looks like if you haven't already. It's a really nice color in person, I can tell ya that. It's rarer on the LS1 Firebirds than Sunset Orange Metallic too, so you can rub that in a few people's faces.

I have been reading your History topic and its awesome. I'm going to see the firebird in person this weekend. From what I have heard I wont be disappointed in the color. Thanks again for your help.
