NICE JOB! I think the best part of it all is that price tag...most of us spend so much money on paint jobs, etc. I have been interested and reading up on painting my Camaro for some time and hopefully will one day do it myself. I'm glad to see that you did it yourself.

Couple of quick questions though - Where did you buy the paint? And where did you find a painting booth to paint the car?

I originally wanted to try a garage job, but with paints today, it just doesn't make sense. It's best to simply rent a booth like you did.

As for stripes...go for WHITE! I've always loved Orange, but I love how your's is a shade of it's own...damn it's bright!

Best of luck with your "NEW" car.

Mark

Just a suggestion, but I think you should have painted stripes on it before you cleared it. If you had masked off the stripes and painted them on before you cleared, and then cleared the whole car, you could have sanded down your initial 2 coats of clear and re-cleared it to make you stripes feel smooth over the whole finish. You wouldn't have a raised appearance to them. Unless you plan on vinyl then that would be fine.

Hey David. Are you still in TX. I met you on base a couple months ago. Your car looks great! Quite a bit different from when I saw it in primer. Where did you rent the booth and get your paint? Oh yeah, wish i could have helped with the T's.

saint...i used a syphon feed gun. it was made by snap-on.. it is really old and sucked ***... with a new gravity fed gun ..i could have made it perfect. painting was pretty ez..it does take time to perfect it but i will always paint my own car from now on.

I like it alot too. As far as color, I know it's not one that you gave a choice for, but I think some shade of blue would look KILLER! Either that or black

I honestly liked it more when it was primered black. I think you should paint the headlight area black again. But its good....
