what should I do?? I don't want to drill holes in my bumper to mount one. What can I do? Magnates????

I just bought like NEW under 9k mile '96 Z and it's front bumper/paint was FLAWLESS..
unfortunately I live 2 blocks from our local Suburbian Police Dept. and was pulled over and informed NEXT time I was seen w/o the front plate I would be ticketed ($90 + costs)
It KILLED me but I drilled the 2 holes and mounted it. I dont think there are magnets strong enough to fight the aerodynamic drag of a front plate. I've seen them mounted on the front air grabber for the radiator (under the bumper) but I've heard they'll ticket you there too since it isn't the "stock" plate bracket location. A buddy of mine is a Columbus Policeman and they say it's mainly about the lack of laser (lidar) target that pisses them off, and what they want the plate for. I HATE front license plate laws myself!!!!!

 

SLP has a front plate bracket that mounts from under the bumper. Looks a lot better than the stock one IMO...

I received a ticket for that on my old firebird, I think mainly because I didn't even have the front plate with me in the car.
(And I gave the cop a bunch of attitude for pulling me over for that.)

So on my Z I just leave it in the window, because I don't want to mount it over my billet grill. And haven't been pulled over (yet).

I know my friend got an exemption from the State police because he didn't want to drill holes in his bumper. But he also owns a Viper, and they don't make a factory front license plate bracket.
