I finally got my hands on a digicam to take pics of my new z28. yay! i love my new car. Needs a new paint job eventually tho. lots of little hairline sctratches in it.

verry nice looking car
but before you drop a ton of money on a paintjob get it prefessionally buffed. That can take away alot of scratches here and there.

well i would love to just get it buffed, however.....the front bumper cover looks like it was hit maybe? it looks like the paint itself is cracking like the whole bumper cover was flexed real good....so i don't think that is gonna come out....besides...there are 2 holes where the license plate holder was and i took that off and you can see a definite place where it was at....so....there are a few knicks and scratches here and there and a few small dents but nothing that is really noticeable until you get up close and personal with it.

Price paid: 5995 with 500 trade-in.....$5495.

Oh and the red one was a V6...a crappy V6. had to get rid of it before boot camp so dad traded it on his new jeep...and it was crappin out real bad and we dumped like 3g's into it and still had a jacked up car. so we got rid of it. and now i have my baby. I will get my K&N filter for my FIPK and my Hooker Cat-back this week so that will make it even faster. then i gotta do the plugs and wires too....that's gonna be fun.

The old license plate? SS-NOT...yeah that was a combination of my dad and me. He suggested that i might put SS on it. then i said....how bout SS dash NOT? He loved it. got a kick out of it

 

Nice clean car. I like it. Take care of it, I hate to see someone with a F-body and treat them like dirt all the time.

Front bumper dings and dangs are actually quite common on our cars, our hoods are extremely prone to rock chips aswell. My dad's 95 Z28 was scratched severly on the front and hood was full of chipped paint, a wax job smoothed it out quite a bit but it still needs a paint job.

My V6 is a 98 and it only had 84K on it when I drove off the lot, the front was severely bruised and like my dads Z, the hood was chipped in every place you could imagine and had several hairline scratched... A polish and wax job one again brings out a brand new look although it to still could use a paintjob in the front...

If you decide to do this, Wash the car of course first, apply POLISH first (Turtle Polish at Autozone was $2.00) After applying polish and wiping it off, rinse her down and THEN apply wax. Alot of people confuse wax and polish...
Wax only protects, Polish is what makes the car shine, therefor if you apply polish before the wax, you have a protected shine!

My front clip needs to be painted bad... tons of small dings. Im gonna wait til I can afford the SS hood though, and get the bumper and hood done at the same time.

 

Is the SS hood RAM-AIR functional? If so, if I put CIA on my V6 this means I can't use the SS hood doesn't it?

 

No, SS hoods aren't functional. If you want functionallity, the closest you'll get to it will be with an Ultra Z hood.

 

and...going back to the topic of MY car....:P

Guess what happened to me today? some lady tried to run me off the road. Actually, she did run me off the road. I was going 35mph and she tried to pull over into me. she was driving a minivan. so it was either her or the pig pile of dirt on the side of the road. So guess what i picked? the dirt. I hit pretty hard too. let's put it this way. i gotta get a new front bumper cover sometime in the future. When i hit the dirt, i hit the front passenger side first, then my entire car scraped the top of this mound. luckily mt dad had a air compressor with an air gun so we blew most of it out. but when i hit it shoved the front passenger side blinker light up out of the "hole". and it ran about a 3 in crack in the bumper cover from the left side(as looking at it) down. so instead of detailing my car today i spent most of the afternoon cleaning crap out from underneath my car. but at least that was only thing that was damaged. i do have to get it realigned tho....more vibration than ever. Yeah. my LUCKY day.
