Re: Export Camaro Taillights

I wonder if they really are as rare as the ebay ad says. I live overseas so Im going to check it out and see what they cost. No way I would put them on my car.

Sorry, but if you are in Japan, and have a Camaro, it is an import

Don't know if I'd put them on my car, but if someone wants to be differant it's either these or altezzas, and I think most of us can agree on altezzas.
im with this guy on the whole three solid elements thing.. but there was another one that said red outside then amber then white.. combine that with no splitter.. but i dont like em at all like that. ive seen a few altezzas in the right setup that look better than that (of course referring to the black ones )

Some countries requires amber as turn signal/hazard lights.... These were made for that market from 93-97....... Not available/discontinued from factory to date..Even tried Australia.... I check back in '01 for these and ran into the same problem....

I understand that but that doesnt mean the dealership wont have a couple on the shelves just sitting around. Like I said just for giggles I want to see if the dealership has any here leftover.

Re: Export Camaro Taillights

I think it depends on the color of the car and what's going on with it appearance wise...

I had them on my Black v-6 with a 98-02 ss spoiler and i thought they looked great. But i didn't have that much done other than that for appearance...so in a crowd of camaros, mine stood out a little.

Now that i have the red SS i wouldn't dare put them on there. I don't think they work with red and i like the fact that the 96 SS's are the only SS's to come with the 93-96 taillights.

Just my $ .02 worth.

John

plus i sold them for more than i paid...so that was nice too...

For some reason, when I look at this car I see the Camaro export taillights:

Looks a little too close for comfort.

That looks funny too.

I'll stick to my classic 93-96 taillights.

They're alright IMO. If I had to choose between those and altezzas, it'd be those any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I really like the 93-97s, especially when they have that sequential dealy hooked up.

Re: Export Camaro Taillights

How do you do that? Looks like some Nightshades was sprayed on those.

And for some reason I like the 97-02 lights better on Camaros. I switched my stock V6 lights over to LTI T/A lights and it looks way better.

I just used a translucent red paint from a hobby store. Third-Gen guys have been doing it for years !
