Sometimes you should ask some people what their opinions are before doing your great idea, or if you like the idea and don't care what others think... repaint the car before selling it.

Not trying to mock the owner of this car particularly, but it is a good example of a paint scheme I haven't seen too often (different colored grill and headlight buckets) and you can see why you don't see it often.

It's also a good example of what I consider to be a hood you should avoid. Just look how thick it is above the headlights. Aftermarket hoods are not always the answer... the ad says it's a Harwood. I know nothing about the quality of a Harwood hood, but that thickness above the headlights looks as bad as a plywood hood.

One thing can be said that's really positive... the body is in fantastic shape. There's not a problem with it that I can see, and that's rare to see these days, especially on a '94 with over 190k miles. It has obviously had a complete repaint, and from pics, it seems like a good one.






One of the exhaust tips appears to be missing... or they put the stock exhaust tip on a single exit aftermarket muffler.


Awesome graphite/gunmetal/charcoal painted salad shooters. Haven't seen that done before. Every single one seems to lack wheel weight damage too! There's some minor curb rash on two, but I think it's underneath the paint and not too noticeable.

But what's this? 115 mph speedo? I checked the VIN and it's a real Z28. Sadly, I can't remember what caused this speedo to not be the 150 mph one. I think it was mandatory when you didn't order the better tires. I know for a fact it has nothing to do with a lack of the Performance Axle Ratio option as our '95 lacks that (but has the better tire option and 150 speedo).


Anyway, while the paint scheme is horrifying (although good quality from what I can see) and the hood isn't to my taste at all, this is one of the best 'normal' mileage Camaros I've seen on ebay in awhile. It'd be a good project car for someone who is looking for one with a mint body.

I have that same hood, your supposed to trim the extra off, its there for shipping safety.
the 115mph came with the non Z rated tires.

 

I knew it looked like something when I first saw it & it has finally hit me....it looks like an albino catfish!!

 

They should've done the outer parts of the headlight buckets in white if they were gonna do the inner part in red, otherwise it just looks weird. The red front fascia would've been fine with a white overlay for the bowtie, it needs clear corners and the center caps should've been powder-coated/gunmetaled/charcoaled or whatever like the rest of the wheels, they pop out too much being left the stock color. The stripes should've been continued across the roof and sail panel and all the way down the front clip, at least up until the fascia. Imo, with those few tweaks it wouldn't be a bad-looking car.

 

That's a disgrace to any 30th Anniversary owner, but the body looks in great shape! Whatever floats your boat I guess!

 

Exactly! The hood on my 84 was like that. I just ground off the lip and reinforced the front edge with a 4" strip of fiberglass, looks fine!!!

 

There was something else that hit me wrong about that paint job, it took me a minute to figure out what it was. Why did they paint the body side molding?

 

No way that guys gets $7000 grand for that. If the paint weren't bad enough, it has almost 200,000 miles on it.

Yeah I didn't even realize that at first either, that molding looks nasty, would've been better off just removing it.

 

That's exactly what I was thinking, he'd be lucky to get half that. Even then that'd probably be pushing it.
