Ebay find of the week: Hugger edition Camaro by Buds Chevrolet

Whether you consider this a special edition, is up to your own interpretation. This car was modified by Buds Chevrolet in Saint Marys, OH. It was ordered as a Hugger Orange Z28 (obviously with black roof) and the roof was repainted orange. It has...

17" x 9.5" Fikse forged aluminum wheels with Michelin 275/40/ZR17 tires

Hurst competition plus shifter

Borla cat-back SS tunable exhaust system

and custom black and orange graphics professionally painted on

The owner modified the car further (good or bad) and added...

A coil-over front suspension with adjustable spring height, rear lower coil springs, and Bilstein shocks at all 4 corners, upgraded rear trailing arms,

frame stiffening ties welded to the unibody, driveshaft brace, urethane sway bar bushings,

front strut tower brace, and MTI air intake system

So is it a special edition? Well, it's 1 of 1, so yes and no, it depends on how broad or specific your definition of "special edition is". It's just as much of a special edition as a Berger SS, Tom Henry SS, or Dale Earnhardt Signature Series Camaro (and maybe even the Intimidator SSes? I don't remember if they were only available from one dealership or not). These were all dealer authorized special editions. But it lacks the publicity of some of the other aftermarket special editions like the Callaways, ZL1s, Dick Harrells, etc. so will it have future value?

Either way, a super cool car with nice appearance changes, and I believe the owner's modifications are not anything that hurt the value. You could argue that his changes make the car not so much different than any modified Camaro, but still, it has a small amount of publicity and documentation, and I think at least half of us can agree that the dealership's modifications weren't enough to make the car that "special", so his changes help.

Not so sure about the hood/front half of the side stripes- but a nice clean car either way.

Bud's is in my hometown. I remember seeing this car at their car shows several years back. I don't care for the hood stripes or the "eye liner" on the LS1 front end...but a tastefully modded car. It did sell for a pretty penny.

I love the eyeliner and side stripes. I'm not crazy about the Yenko inspired hood arrow, but it definitely sets it apart from other Camaros in a crowd.

it is funny how the lt1 crowd is opposite for "eye-liner"...

its an alright car. but i dont like the stripes. that frame stiffner looks liek it'll increase the difficulty of any undercarriage projects as well.
