e-Bay White Gauges, Pics

I may have posted about these gauges before; but I took the bait, bought them, and installed them today. For the price, they're alright, I guess; but I think they need some LEDs behind them. I left the idiot light section (upper left) black on purpose. My dash is still torn apart. I also bought the white headlight panel and HVAC panel and some LEDs that I'm still waiting for. So the pics are just a first look at the gauges with stock bulbs.

They look hard to see through.

Yeah, they are a little faint. The pic is actually better than in person. Hoping some LED's will wake them up a bit. On the bright side, they look good in the daylight.

A few more pics here of my white gauge/LED mod... finally figured out a decent way to do an LED HVAC panel. First pics are of the stock black:

This one doesn't show the blue but shows a better view of the light all around.

Second pics are of the e-Bay white overlay:

The overlay drowns out the LED's pretty bad around the temperature selector.

Thanks! They look better in person (I'm not a photographer). Now on to fix the gauge cluster...

Aren't the white face gauge overlays supposed to have a 12 volt power supply going to them?

A few more pics. Here is my white, Headlight bezel with LEDs:

Maybe I should have made the headlight position white and the dome light blue. I guess I could have kept them all one color but that's no fun!

It took me a couple of weeks of experimenting to get it the way I wanted. Some people just drop in (2) #74 LED's for the HVAC panel which I didn't think would be good enough. There is no LED bulb that I'm aware of that will just drop into the headlight panel. I may do a write up on this later... I went overboard with it so it's fairly complicated.

Whoa, the first HVAC pic looks great. I wanna do blue LED setup to match the rest of the car/interior but The red will turn purple. Any ideas around that? I don't wanna do white faces but wow that looks good

Thanks! After screwing around with the white overlays on the panels, I've decided to stick with the stock black (same lighting, though). I may end up doing the same with the white overlays on the cluster as well depending on how that turns out (still waiting on some LEDs to show up). Anyway...

You'll need to put a red LED on the bottom of the red side of the temp adjustor and a blue LED on the bottom of the blue side of it. That should get you what you need. It might be a little purplish up at the top but nothing you couldn't live with. This, of course, is assuming you want to do more than just drop a couple of #74 blue LED bulbs in the existing sockets. Otherwise, you're kinda stuck.

BTW: I'd like to see pics of anyone who did that (any color).

Black Headlight Panel

Back to the stock colored Headlight panel with blue LEDs:

Also got rid of the orange parking light indicator as shown in the white pics. It didn't look right. Damn, I wish I could take better pics. I'll update these if I take some that come out any better.
