Driving lights

Since a rock or something hit one of my fog lights and broke the lens and bulb, I decided that it might be time to go ahead and upgrade. I would really like to replace the current fog lights with some driving (not fog) lights to get some more light on the road. I have been reading a lot of posts on here and it seems as though a lot of people recomend the Hella FF75's. Some people have said that they are too big and dont fit, but I have seen other people that have them in the stock location. If I understand correctly, I will need to make a bracket for the Hella's...is this correct? I would prefer to keep the price under $100 and it sounds like the Hella's can do that. I would like to keep the lights somewhat factory looking, however I also prefer functionality over looks. I don't really want these lights just for looks, I actually want to be able to see the road in front of me.

My questions:
1. Are these still the driving lights that most people recomend?
2. How difficult are the brackets to make
3. Does anyone have any pictures of the brackets?
4. Is there a noticeable improvement in light on the road?
5. Is there anything else I should know?

I know this has been discussed a lot before but it seems to be mainly for headlight conversions. I would greatly appreciate any information from anyone. Thanks a lot!

FF75s work really well in the stock location. I made brackets from flat aluminum stock. 2 holes for mounting them on the same holes the brackets for the stock lights mount on and 1 hole for the bracket that holds the new light. Each bracket is about 4 x 4 inches or so. The Hellas are much brighter than the stockers. Pics in my sig.
