Does adding a bodykit affect E.Ts

I'm about to put a wings west bodykit on today. Will I feel a difference?

It seems if you add weight to the car, you're car will be slower.

But aerodynamically, it seems that less air would get under the car and instead go around it making you slip through the air better.

It would be an interesting experiment to make a bunch of runs with and without the body kit to see if there really is a signifigant difference.

EDIT: Whoo-hoo, 1500th post and I'm now a prominent member. A personal triumph

You won't "feel" a difference but you might notice one in your times, might be bad or good go test it out for us

I was running a 9.30 consistantly before the kit and once I put the kit on I was running a 9.35. Then I added a few things and consistantly run a 9.1 or 9.2 now. If you only bolt it up, I think you won't notice much. But if you have it molded on like I did, you might lose some time. But .05 of a second was worth all the compliments I get about the kit. I'd do it again if I had to

Ooooo, how would you change the front fenders if the need ever arose?

I think he probably only molded the nose and not the side-skirts.

Agreed, thats with adding any suspension stuff too...

But, the GFX are hella lite, buy like u said..aerodynamically, it will be less air under the car. Esp. with the WW gfx that has a bigger front gfx and the longer air dam. Thats why i went with a kit that used a smaller front and used the stock air dam. I also added the "home-made ram air" that will help conpensate any loss of air with the gfx...

If you stick a huge wing on the back of a Honda, does that make it faster?

I hope that answers your question.

Remeber when TransAms and Formulas gave diffrent times? The guys at Road and Track said that the Higher topspeed on the TransAm 157mph was becuz of the ground effects, giving the car better aero dynamics, but the reason the Formula was quicker on 0 to 60 was becuz of the lack of ground effects(weight)
