Do you like or dislike this steering wheel?

It may be kind of ricey but I held one and there is no doubt it is a superior driver's wheel and I could definitely use the flat bottom because I'm pretty crammed in my Camaro. I love the way it feels, works and fits.. my main concern is appearance.

This wheel in this interior.

If you do approve then which color, blue or black?

I'm not sure if I like the steering wheel. It has a unique look, but I wonder how hard it would be to handle during agressive driving since the steering wheel isn't round.

As far as color, the blue is a good idea, but it is way brighter than the blue on your seats and wouldn't be a good match IMO.

If you get it, go with black.

BTW, what kind of seats are those? They look pretty awesome. Do you have anymore pics of them?

The blue is actually darker in person and a much better match than that picture lets on. As far as shape goes, this is a common shape in race cars. Every Formula 1 and Indy car uses a D wheel.

Thanks, on the seats. I have tons of pictures at my site, http://home.attbi.com/~bartlane/ They are Recaro Style seats.

Seats were two grand total delivered from Germany with brackets. That was for leather bolsters and lumbar support air bladders.

I sold my old seats for $525 so that helped.

They are worth every penny to me.

IMHO I'd rather hit my head on a air bag than a steering wheel I think looks "cool"

But if you are gonna get it either way I say gray

I like that style of wheel...

In the picture, the blue looks too bright, but if it matches your seats in real life, I would say get it in blue.

If the wheel doesn't match your seats, then buy it in black.

I voted black though

Is it legal to take away the airbag on a car and replace it with a non airbag wheel? I mean, would your insurance cover you if you got in an accident and you were injured? "Well, he didn't have the airbag, so we won't pay sh*t."

Legal in Florida anyway

It is legal in Florida because I know at some used car dealers when they sell cars that were hit they plug a dummy into the airbag wires and put the cover back. But when the car is sold the people have to be told and I think it may have to appear on the title.

I remember seeing a show talking about track rules supposedly you cant race your car if you take the airbags out of it if it came with them stock

actually...

I've heard the opposite, as far as road racing goes I believe you have to remove them for some levels of competition. And drag racing they could care less, I've heard stories of airbags going off on hard launches...

Definately black, I have seen the blue one and I think you'd be disappointed in the color, its not a good match for NBM. I was looking at getting the same wheel, they are great for adding extra room to squeeze into your car. I ended up going with Sparco instead to match my car. My car has 6 point cage, sparcos, and 5 point belts, and getting in is a pain. The leveled of bottoms give you room to squeeze your legs in. I don't know if the recaros are difficult to get in and out of, but it would help.

Now on another note, I wouldn't ditch the airbag unless you put in a harness, not worth the risk to your skull. It be worth it to spend $350 on a Harness and LG Motorsports harness bar since you are putting nice seats and wheel in your car. It would complete the look of your interior and give a safety bonus.
