I was on my other camaro site and came across this hood. Looks like a cowl hood but is round and beefy IMO. I love the way it looks. reminds me of the mustang hood. But I cant find this hood anywhere(Purple one).....

That one may be custom, its Whistler's car, most of the stuff on there is custom IIRC.

I saw whistler's car at the Hot Rod Power Tour last year...I wish I knew it was his car...I might have spent some more time looking at it.

If I remember right, Whistler's hood is hand-made carbon fiber. In other words, no you can't buy it. I know he posts on LS1tech.com.

 

I don't know man, I just took those while I was wandering through the cars. I believe he had a cardomain page a long time ago, but I don't feel like looking for it now. Perhaps you could take a shot at it. He has a ton of posts here and has been active recently. You can look up his name and find out what you may need to find his page.

 

It looks similar to this harwood cowl on this car, so I'd say that is what it is, or that is the closest thing you'll find that you can buy if Whistler's hood truly is custom made.

 

Anyone have any pics of what they know to be the Harwood cowl on 98-02? I'm considering getting it, and thought that the Harwood is what's on Whistler's car....be nice to see it on another car to know for sure. If I don't get the Harwood, I'll end up going with the Sunoco...it's been a toss-up decision for me anyway...

 

Well, after a little investigating, it, turns out Whistler actually made that hood for someone else (a fella named Chris I believe), that is a business partner of his. That car is appearently not Whistlers. I do love that hood, and it looks better than the Harwood in the pics I've seen.. I'm torn..can't decide between Harwood, Sunoco (don't care for the side view/profile of Sunoco really), or as a last result, Ultra Z...

I think the Sunoco hood looks out of place on the cars since we obviously don't have access to the widebody panels. I'd go with the Harwood cowl. Just my $0.02

 

wow those r two incredible camaros.... that top one just took my breath away... i wa skinda distracted on the 2nd one lol.... i love the hood too and also those rims... what kind are they???
