do i NEED new shocks when doing a prokit??

Want to get a prokit, with LCA reloco brackets and adj pan rod. Do i need to get new shocks, or will the stockers work fine?? If i need new shocks, how much do they go for, trying to not go too much $$$ here. Thanks.

No, you do not NEED new shocks, but it is recommended. I needed new shocks when I installed my ProKit because I had to cut the 2 front shocks because the bolt was pretty much rusted in place and I had to cut it off to dissassemble the unit.

But, you can replace your shocks with new stock units. SLP sells take-offs for $25/pair. That is what I did and I have had no problems at all.

i highly recommend them too...

i had the sportlines with stockers and now i had the Full Hal spring/shock combo sitting in my closet...

i hated theride with the sportlines and i'd personally recommend getting diff shocks...

good luck

Need - no
good idea - yes

I put on a set of HD bilsteins (not the ones slp sells) and am very happy with the ride quality. My ride had ~70K miles so it was almost time to change shocks anyway.

It's also less of a pain in the *** to take the whole assembly out just once for the combo.
