DIY Wheel Polishing
DIY Wheel Polishing
Today I feeling a bit stupid and curious as to how to attain polished wheels... so i go out, buy some paint thinner, and toss it onto my newly acquired (but in fairly rough shape) fat spokes... nothing happened... so i went to the local auto parts store, and bought a 1.5 in diameter sanding package that attaches easily to a rotozip or drill... sooo I take it to the wheel using 80 grit... ouch
so i put the polishing bit on, rub it back and forth, takes the paint off and polishes the aluminum underneath... IT looks pretty bad *** but what would i use to get into the small spaces? Also, I was using a rotozip... what can i use to make them look even more polished? It has the finely brushed aluminum look, typical of uh... stainless steel countertops, but i want to acheive a near factory look... is it possible, or should i just go ahead and paint them graphite as originally intended?
