Dirty Rims

Hey i just happened to take my car out after the LOOOONG winter, and washed it and i came to the rims... well i have brake dut on them that is pretty stuck on there from the loooong sitting it received due to winter! I was wondering if anyone knows of any good wheel/rim cleaner to use. Any suggestions and directions!

Are they the stock silver rims?

If so, all you need is some soapy water and a towel. Just soak the wheels down then wash them with the towel and soapy water. The wheels have a clear coat them them which makes them very easy to clean. You might want to try to apply a coat of wax after you clean them too. Makes it even easier next time around.

No matter what kind of rim, you can always invest in some generic rim cleaner. You wet the tires, spray it on, let it set, and wa-la! It'll definately make the dust easier to get off.

now I havent used a ton of different products but I did find some S100 for my parents motorcycles. Anyway, seemed to get the brake dust off my caliper and my rotor with little to medium effort. They shined nicely too. I have also tried next dimension brake parts cleaner. Totally ate apart my caliper paint, EHH . But I need to get down there and repaint them soon anyway. Good luck.

P.S. (If they are chrome, Coca-Cola and tinfoil!)

I really like the eagle-sumthing, or just eagle.. the one that comes in an orange bottle, get it at autozone, or walmart for like 4 bucks. spray it on a cool dry wheel and hose it off, I rinse it with the pressure washer. my 2 cents.

I stick my hand in-between the rims to clean them with zaino Z-7 car wash soap every time I wash the car. That way the grease and dust doesn't build up. Then I hit them with the pressure washer for the rinse.
