Dimming interior llights

Dimming interior llights
My buddy Jason has a 00 V6 Camaro, when I open the door the interior lights come on, but when I close the door they slowly dim till their off, I thought that looks real nice, is there any way I could modify my rear veiw mirror and back light to do the same?
