Dented taillight from lens getting to hot with blackouts?
I used to have a set of blackouts on my taillights and when I took them off I noticed that there was now a small dent where the bulb had heated up the lens.
Has anyone tried fixing this with a heat gun? I figure I can heat up the plastic and then use a rod with a rubber ball on the end to push the dent back out from the inside. I don't want to blister the plastic though...

yeah i had the same thing happen to me, i just haven't had time to mess with it. but i was thinking the same thing heat gun and something round to try and push the dent back out, just kinda scared of messing up my tail lights.
maybe im crazy but i think the "dent" or dip is supposed to be in the tail light because I have two sets one that has never had blackouts and one that has been spray tinted and they both have the dips in them.jus my 2 cents though.
I know my taillights didn't have the dent in them before I put blackouts on. The odd thing is I used to have a 94 Z with blackouts and it didn't affect the tail lights. The 97 style lights are the ones that developed the dent.
