Dash Cover replacement
The plastic dash cover that between the dash and the base of the windshield cracked at the passenger door pillar. Has anyone had one off? Is it difficult to replace? Heck does anyone know what's called?
Thanks,

The place that I got mine from called it a Dash Pad I believe. I paid 40 bucks shipped for it, but I got an amazing deal since it is so big and bulky and very fragile. Most of the time people look for about 120 bucks for them I think. They are really hard to find cause those are usually one of the first things to break in a parts car. I can find out the site where I got mine and post a link later on if you would like. Hope that helps
I had hoped someone would have fixed this problem before. I went to a local auto recycler and they tapped into the dealers prices somehow and said that piece of plastic is $140.00. He thought that the cover was part of the dash for which they get $400.00. But if it is a removable piece then they would sell it for $50.00.
I'm heading to the dealer to find out how difficult it will be to replace. If it's to much trouble I'm going to throw a Dash Mat on for now. I'm on Workman's Comp and my back's hurting right now.
I also need to replace my drivers side upper seat cover. Need to figure that out too! Jeff

Dash Panel
The dash panel is not hard to replace but it is very easy to crack. It is only held down by plastic tips that push into place in slots. the trick is you have to know exactly where each one is and ease something under the panel and gently raise it up to get it to pop out. If it is alread cracked and you are replacing it it is much easier because you don't really have to be careful just pry it out if it cracks more who cares. Take note where all the clips are on the new one and get it lined up real good before pushing them back in. I think the book talks about taking the pillar post covers out to do this but I was able to replace mine without pulling them off. If you are just removing a good one to get to things under there then pull the pillar post covers and then very gentlly raise it upso you can see the clip area and pry up only right at the clip. Even then you are apt to crack it. Here is an email address for a salvage yard that you may be able to get one from. Normally at about 70 t0 75 doallars plus 30-40 for shipping they pack it in a wood frame becauseit is so fragile.
