Angry F*cking Dealer!!

I have a ***** dealer (VISTA RIDGE PONTIAC)

They told me that my suspension warranty is VOID because I put lowered springs on my 99 WS6!!

Anyone had to fight this battle? Anyone have any links to help me prove them wrong?

TIA!!

Reinstall the stock springs and go to another dealer. Of course if you go to dealer complain of a suspension problem and you have a modified suspension they are going to immediately relate them. It also doesn't aid them in diagnosing when you have aftermarket parts on there. So reinstall stock springs and go to another dealer or go to same dealer and hopefully they will be cool and not bring up that it was lowered. Good luck.

I'm sided with the dealer, that's the price you pay for lowering the car. it's that simple. you can't hold GM responsible if some other jackass company's springs screwed up your car. It's very simple so why can't you understand that? everybody knows that lowering your car will void the warenty and it screw up. You've got the money to own a new camaro and mod the hell out of it, i'm sure you've got the money to pay the damn bill and fix the problem. Infact putting the original springs on and taking it in is illegal. it's called breech of contract and is no different than theft.

chuckys95: Thanks, I might try that.

Z28STYLE23: The rears aren't that hard, it's getting the front springs off the shocks that is a pain in the ****.

WhoBetter: Dude, wanna come over? You sound like you need a brew to mellow out. I understand that lowering the vehicle has an affect on the suspension but they have to prove that it is the aftermarket part that caused any damage... That's the law right? They said they wouldn't even look at it!!

The dealerships are a bunch of rip-off artists.

I think the real questions here are:

What springs were you running ?
Why were you going in under warranty ? (what issues were you having with your suspension)

What was your original complaint anyway? Is your complaint something that could be caused by your springs?

If you are still using your stock shocks with a set of aftermarket lowering springs, then its no wonder you are unhappy. I installed a set of Hyperco progressive springs and kept my stock deCarbons, and the car rode like a gravel truck. Bottomed out on everything. Took them off and went back to stock springs. Eventually got smart, spent the $$, and bought the complete Level 2 package from SLP (Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, reinforced LCAs). Money well spent. What shocks are you using? The stock ones are simply not able to cope with aftermarket springs.

It is illegal for the dealer to simply deny your claim without proving that the aftermarket part caused the problem. What is the nature of the problem? Maybe that will give me a better idea of whether they are within their legal rights.

LOL! Dude, you make me laugh. I can't believe some people are this ignorant. What contract are you referring to? Where did he sign saying that he wouldn't remove aftermarket parts before bringing the vehicle in for service? Is it unscrupulous? Probably. Illegal? No.

wojan, if you continue to have problems contact SEMA. I used to work closely with them and they like to help people in your situation.

Hmmm... I forgot to even say what the prob was didn't I!!??

There is a clunking/loose metal sound that happens when I go over semi-rough road, like crappy asphalt. It sounds like a bad ball joint but they seem to be ok.

Patrick: Yes, I am using stock shocks with LG springs. My car does ride a little rougher than I I'd like it to. I have a WS6 so the full SLP Package really isn't that much of an improvement (aside from the shocks).

Oh yeah, I got another one for you... I had my car in the shop last week (they had to replace the stearing gear). Anyway, I went to a friend's shop to put some new pads on my car and guess what the dealer did? They not only forgot to put one of my wheel locks on but they forgot to give me the friggin key!!! ARRGH!! I had to do the old hammer a socket on trick. This dealer SUCKS, I'm seriously thinking about writing a formal complaint to pontiac (not that they care).

Anyone got any ideas as to what the clunking sound might be??
TIA,
Wojan

Yup... now they are saying that they didn't loose them! I'm compiling a list of gripes and I'm going to send it to Pontiac (Not that I really think they give a s--t).

The weird thing is that you'd think for about $25 they would just replace them as to keep the customer happy so that they might come back and buy a car.

This dealer is just a plain POS!

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM VISTA RIDGE PONTIAC !!!
