So I cut a piece of metal to fit over the cassette holder in the console.

I'm mounting it using the factory cigarette lighter setup.

I finished it and sanded it down, primed, and painted it. Then my sister flipping cat comes traipsing along and puts 3 dirty paw prints in the paint that was still tacky.

Fudge!!!!

Now I have to sand it down and repaint it.

I guess it isn't all bad. It'll be easier to install the manual fan switch and LED for it while its not painted. I've even contemplated powder coating it, but I don't know where I could get it done for a reasonable price.

I was going to attach a phone mount I have to it, since clipped in it would look like a GPS but I figure in a year or two when I upgrade phones, it may not fit so I decided against it. I am going to install my amplifiers level control into it though.

 

I have thought about installing a push button start as well, but I'm haven't decided on it. I just hate to have to use a key and a push button.
