Thumbs up Custom Turn Signals - Pics Inside

Well, seeing how I got hit and it busted out a turn signal, I figured this time around I would do them how I wanted.

I wanted my turn signals to flow better, and not stand out - thus the reason for not going with clear corners. I also wanted them to look nice, instead of just regular old plastic housings. Thus - what I did...

Take a look... and let me know what you think.

I blacked them out first with some VHT Nite Shades, then I wrapped them in aluminum mesh. Took me a little while to do, but not near as long as the Fog Light Grilles (which I will put in soon and take some pics of - they should flow well with these grilles...) I am going for a clean/industrial look.
These turned out about 20 times better than I expected, and I am very well pleased.

Thanks to Mike - 93Z286Speed for the FREE housings!

AND PLEASE - Excuse the filth of my car - I had to take a half day off of work just to get time to work on these, so needless to say, it's been a while since a wash and wax. Plus the pollen count down south is through the roof...

Although that probably isn't safe or legal during the day, it looks cool and definately unique.

Where did you get the mesh from ?

For some reason, the movie "Mad Max" comes to mind. Black cars and all that "car armor"...heh looks pretty cool.

did you consider painting the aluminum mesh black? Or are you gonna leave it the natural alum. finish?

Exactly...it had crossed my mind, but I like the aluminum look pretty good - I am gonna leave it. Mad Max - heh, I can see where you would get that. Which I don't really mind, I just like them. If it turns out looking like a complete aromored car, then I would have some doubts...

The light shines through pretty well, but I am ordering some 35/5 1157's and some 15w 194's for them (both white)...It isn't as safe as clear corners or the stockers for sure though.

Got the mesh from Lowes...it is actually gutter guard LOL!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Unique idea! Looks nice man, good job!

I really like silver trim on a black car, so I think it looks great the way it is... I wouldn't change a thing.

Once you get those fog light grills on, it will look like an armored car!

They look pretty cool, but not something I would do
