Curbed My Rim

I curbed my rim the other day. I hit a curb and it tore the outer lip of my rim up and made a six inch long scrap. Its deep enough to where it needs filled to be flush with the rim. There 17 Milie Migila 1000 with the silver finish. Is this able to be repaired by me or does it need professional done.

Sounds like it can be repaired, but just to make sure, I would take it to a wheel shop or a tire shop and have it checked, they will give you the best advise.

I toasted my rim the other day on a curb. I have the silver SS rims. But it was gouged before that by my neighbor tire shop. They claimed that it was rusted so it had been done before I brought it in. It's Aluminum!! Anyway I am interested how to fix it also.

i got a set of OZ Competitions and 3 of them are curbed, two of them are gouged pretty bad, i am going to media blast all the wheels (myself) and have a friend lay some heli-arc welds in the guoges, i'll grind and smooth the welds down to where you can't tell anything has been to them, and then i am going to have all 4 of them powdercoated silver....
i can get all 4 rims and all 4 centercaps powdercoated for $125.00 locally..
i was thinking of doing them in white, black, or even gunmetal, but i just decided to redo them in silver...
also bought a set of badly curbed ten spoke ss wheels off ebay for $150.00 and i'm also going to redo those too ..
i'll let all you guys know how it turns out..

I just took the Z-28 out for a spin today and nailed a curb while making a turn (I wasn't going fast at all, but it was a good, hard, glancing blow). The chrome salad shooter has about a 1 inch scrape right on the lip (dont think it will be too noticeable), but the tire was toast. Took a large shot on the sideway and tore the rubber cover (about 1/4 inch).

To make matters worse, they can't get another tire till probably Monday and the Z-28 won't get its prime spot in my garage (I left it at the tire place....I didn't want to drive anymore on that dinky spacesaver spare) during the winter storm heading here for Sunday and Monday.

I should have just left it in the garage, but I felt like taking it for a trip to the mall, since the sun was out and the roads were clear.

Darn curb.....

Well considering I have basically the same make wheels, I believe it may be repairable.

I hit a pothole last year doing like 45! (it was dark) and it bent the crap out of my wheel....weird thing is you couldn't even tell......it got kinda twisted...not noticable until i put on a wheel balancer(it wobbled like crazy).

Anyways I took mine to Wheels America to see if they could fix it. IN MY CASE, my wheel was a lost cause, but before they thoroughly examined it, they told me they could not match the finish.

The silver some of these wheels are different. Its called "brilliant silver" and it shines really nice compared to regular silver.

Maybe you can find another company that may be able to match it.

EDIT###############

OK I just saw your wheels on your website and they don't have the same finish mine do.........so I believe it may be easier to match.
